Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

Empowering parents and caregivers

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), was developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at Yale University. SPACE is a parent-based intervention that is designed for parents of children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety.  The sessions are conducted solely with parents and are offered through Luminescence Creative Counselling in-person and virtually.

SPACE focuses on equipping parents with effective tools and strategies to support their child's emotional health and reducing anxiety.  By integrating meaningful steps and reduce accommodations, parents help their child face their fears with increased confidence and resiliency.

SPACE - ARFID is a parent-based treatment for children with extreme picky eating, or ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)

The goal of SPACE-ARFID is to increase the child's flexibility around food and improve their adjustment to food-related situations.
